Pros and Cons of Home SchoolingEvery parent is faced with the decision of whether or not to cornerstone school their child. While some families may find home schooling as being very helpful and beneficial to their childs education, others may find that it is crucial their child be sent to a normal school. Some parents are hesitant to send their children to public school because of crime and overleap of discipline and also because they fear that the quality of education is declining. Parents may also feel that sending their child to school will aid in their kind development. Home schooling has both advantages and disadvantages which aid parents in this difficult decision. Home schooling has been proven to result in higher test scores for students. This could mayhap be a result of a more individualized learning environment where personal attention is always given. According to two Time reporters, the bonnie SAT score home schoolers in 2000 was 1100, compared with 1019 for th e general population (Cloud and Morse). The amount of time a child has been home schooled has a direct correlation with their deed on standardized tests. Home-schooled pupils who took the Iowa Test of Basic Skills outscored public school students by 37 percentile points. On the Stanford Achievement Test, the advantage was 30 percentile points.
